Terrace array on an independent house

A five-kilowatt array raised clear of a family terrace so the space underneath stays usable for drying and seating.

The constraint

The usable roof was broken up by a stair-head, two water tanks and a parapet that threw a long shadow in winter.

What we did

The array was lifted on a taller structure and split across two orientations so the winter shadow crossed one string rather than all of them.

Results

No metered results are published for this project. We do not estimate outcomes and present them as measurements — figures appear here once there is meter data and the site owner has agreed to publish it.

From the site

  • Angled view along a rooftop array showing module frames and clamp positions
  • A module-level power electronics unit clamped to a mounting rail with its DC leads dressed along the purlin
  • An installer lifting a module into position on a shallow-pitch roof
